BECKHOFF BK3120 Bus Coupler Description
The Economy Plus version expands the existing PROFIBUS Bus Coupler series BK3xx0, offering enhanced performance and flexibility. Utilizing K-bus extension technology, it supports the connection of up to 255 spatially distributed Bus Terminals to a single Bus Coupler. Designed to meet modern requirements, the BK3120 focuses on optimizing data transfer in DP mode, omitting FMS operation to achieve a higher capacity of 128 bytes for both input and output data.
The BK3120 also supports PROFIBUS DP V1 services, enabling direct access to Bus Coupler registers and complex Bus Terminals. This allows advanced functions such as parameterization adjustments and setting/correcting limit values for analog Bus Terminals.
With automatic baud rate detection of up to 12 Mbaud, the Bus Coupler can dynamically adapt transmission speeds to suit the specific needs of the technical process, ensuring efficient and reliable communication.
